Sukkot at Sanderling

Last week, after learning about the Hebrew holiday Sukkot, our 3rd grade class was presented with the challenge of building their very own Sukkah structure. At Sanderling Waldorf school, our teachers know that hands-on learning experiences like this (relating to other cultures, climates, dwellings, and lifestyles) help children to develop an open mind for differences in others, and a better understanding of the world, overall. The children also gained applied academic insights (i.e. math & science), as well as developmental benefits (i.e. physical, cognitive, and social). Who knew learning could be so much fun!?
