CAMP REGISTRATION


EARLY CHILDHOOD SUMMER CAMP

This camp is intended for children ages 4 years old - 6 years old

(Child must be 4 years old by June 1, 2025 to register)

Early childhood camp is led by Sanderling faculty and Sanderling teaching assistants. Camper’s day will begin outside with open free play and crafting then move inside for snack, circle, rest, inside play, and story. The children will engage in a variety of activities: baking, painting, sewing, and gardening. The children will have a balance of free play and focused activities with time in the wonder of nature and imagination.

CAMP PROGRAM:

9:00am - 1:00pm

AFTERCARE PROGRAM AVAILABLE DAILY:

1:00pm - 2:30pm

(additional $100 flat fee for each week of AfterCare)

CAMP RATE: $350 per week

If you sign up for all 6 weeks of camp, you can use the code below to receive a $100 discount. This discount applies to all children who attend every week of camp but discounts do not stack. If you use the all weeks discount please do not use the sibling discount as well. If you end up canceling or refunding any week(s) of camp, the discount will be revoked. If you don’t sign up for all weeks at once, you can still use this code when you sign up for your final week(s). Please contact the admin office if you have any questions regarding this discount.

We ask that each child bring:

  • A healthy lunch held in a basket with two napkins. One will be used for a place mat and the other as needed.  We ask that lunches are low sugar and packed in reusable containers

  • Water bottle labeled with child’s name 

  • Sun hat that easily stays on child’s head through activity

  • A bag of extra clothing: underwear, socks, pants, and shirts (all labeled)

  • Inside shoes or slippers that children can change into from outside play. The preference would be soft shoes/slippers that are comfortable and will easily stay on child’s feet

  • Sunscreen. Please put sunscreen on your child before they arrive

Refund and cancellation policy:

  • Full refund minus a $10 service fee to cancel within 48 hours of registration

  • After 48 hrs families are eligible for a 50% refund until May 20, 2025

  • No refunds after May 20, 2025

Week 4: July  7 - 11  Handwork Camp with Ms. Priscilla

Week 5: July 14 - 18  Handwork Camp with Ms. Priscilla

Week 6: July 21 - 25  Subject and Teacher TBD 

Week 7:  July 28 - August 1  Immersion in Spanish Culture with Señora Sara

GERMAN a Waldorf Specialty Subject

Immersion in German language and culture with Sanderling Specialty Subject teacher, Frau Andranian. This week of camp will be focusing on German language and culture through cooking, indoor and outdoor games and stations. Frau Andranian will be teaming up with her son Paul (Powell). Paul is a teaching major at Cal Poly SLO and loves sports, games, and the outdoors. He is a native German speaker.

UBUNTU means TOGETHERNESS

Ubuntu camp with Mr. Mr. Mashobane 

Join us for an unforgettable two-week adventure! Our experienced instructor, Mr. Mashobane Moruthane, has crafted a fun-filled program that will keep your child engaged, active, and inspired. 

Daily activities include rhythmical exercises like drumming, stick drumming, and gumboots dancing, as well as games and team-building challenges, circus skills training, gardening, outdoor exploration, and artistic expression. To fully immerse your child in the Ubuntu experience, we recommend registering them for both weeks. 

This will allow them to develop new skills, build lasting friendships, and take home unforgettable memories. Mr. Moruthane will be joined by a fun-loving and active assistant, ensuring a supportive and energetic environment for all participants. 

The camp culminates in an exciting presentation featuring African drumming performances, circus acts, and an art exhibit.

Note: if we have more than 15 children, we will divide the children into two groups according to their age to have a younger group and an older group.

HANDWORK a Waldorf Specialty Subject

Working with the hands is an essential component of Waldorf education. Among many benefits, Handwork develops fine motor skills, persistence and perseverance, and strengthens related brain functions.

Handwork and Art Camp with Ms. Priscilla: Explore the magic of color, texture and natural fibers through nature-inspired weaving, knitting and/or crochet, embroidery, and fine art projects. Skills and techniques will range based on students’ age and abilities. 

SPANISH a Waldorf Specialty Subject

Have your children experience the Hispanic culture while having fun out of the classroom settings for a change in their experience. Cooking, doing art, crafts, singing and playing will be part of their day and much more!!… All with an immersion approach with our Spanish teacher Señora Sara with over 15 years of experience leading and developing different Spanish programs for all ages and levels ranging from summer camps, mommy and me, tutoring among others.

We ask that each child bring:

Food

Please bring a snack, lunch, water bottle, and a backpack. We ask that our families do their best to provide students with healthy food that can fuel them for the day. Please no sweets or sugary treats for snack or lunch.

Clothing

Please dress your child in clothes suited for varied activities and weather conditions. We strive to create an environment that allows the children to play freely without distractions. School clothing, backpacks and lunch baskets should be free of slogans, cartoons, logos, commercial advertising, and caricatures. Children wearing short dresses need to wear shorts or leggings underneath so they can freely climb, run and jump. Please choose shoes that work well for running on uneven terrain. Shoes with closed toes and backs that are sturdy are requested. Flip flop sandals or shoes with heels or flashing lights are not allowed. Please leave wristwatches and all jewelry at home. Please apply sunscreen on your child before they arrive for the day and have them wear a hat. Lastly, please pack an extra change of clothes in your child's backpack just in case it is needed.
