Tuition & Payment FAQs
+ WHAT OTHER EXPENSES SHOULD YOU EXPECT
In addition to tuition, Sanderling Waldorf School collects fees to help cover the cost of your child's education. Fees for the 25-26 school year total about $2000.
There are also student and grade specific activities and trips that may require additional funds throughout the year.
+ DO YOU OFFER SIBLING DISCOUNTS?
Yes. Sibling discounts of 15 percent for a second child and an additional 15 percent for a third child are applicable for full pay families. Sibling discounts do not apply to fees, tuition insurance, or AfterCare costs.
+ WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS?
Sanderling offers families several payment options to help manage tuition expenses. After paying a $1000 non-refundable deposit at the time of enrolling, families can choose one of several payment options. Balances can be paid in full, in two payments, or in twelve payments. Payments are due on the 10th of the month. Any payments received after the 20th of the month may include a $50 late fee.
+ WHAT IF MY CHILD STARTS AFTER THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR?
If your child enters the program after the beginning of the year, Sanderling Waldorf School will prorate tuition and required fees appropriately. Please note that the application fee is nonrefundable and payable in full for each student regardless of his/her date of entry into the school.
+ IS THERE A TRIAL PERIOD?
When families sign the tuition contract, they are legally committing to pay tuition and fees for that student for the entire year. We provide a six-week trial period during which either the student's family or the school may find good reason for the child to withdraw. Disenrollment during the six-week trial period releases the family from the responsibility for paying the remainder of the annual tuition. Tuition and fees already paid are nonrefundable. After the trial period, families are responsible for the annual tuition, even in the case of early withdrawal for reasons other than relocation of the family. Tuition loss due to withdrawal based on job location will be covered by the school's Tuition Insurance Fund.
+ DO I HAVE ANY OBLIGATIONS BEYOND TUITION AND FEES?
Sanderling Waldorf School is powered by its parent body. Your volunteer participation through community meetings, festivals and other school activities is vital to the health of the school. Nursery/Kindergarten and Grades families are asked to volunteer regularly in various capacities, with a required time donation of 40 hours per year.
+ DO YOU OFFER TUITION ASSISTANCE?
Sanderling Waldorf School does offer tuition assistance for eligible families. Financial eligibility is determined through an outside program called Clarity. The Clarity application runs in concurrence with the application process. If a family is offered tuition assistance, this may not be combined with our sibling discount.
+ WHAT ARE THE QUAILFICATIONS FOR TUITION ASSISTANCE?
The qualifications for assistance depend on each family’s individual situation, taking into account factors such as family size, household income, assets, liabilities, and other significant financial commitments, including tuition costs for siblings at other schools.
