Event Description:

The Michaelmas Festival came to life through a vibrant pageant at the Sanderling Waldorf School. Each grade participated, contributing uniquely to the event. The festivities culminated with performances by the children, followed by the community relishing in the tradition of dragon bread. The pageant was graced by the presence of parents, grandparents, and esteemed guests.

The Essence of Michaelmas Tradition:

The Michaelmas tradition brings forth the inspiring image of St. Michael, his golden sword piercing through darkness, symbolizing our courage against the darkening days of autumn. As the earth draws into itself, we too embark on a journey inward, preparing for winter's introspection. The legendary struggle of St. George with the dragon is also emblematic of Michaelmas, representing our internal and external battles against the cold and darkness. This tradition is a call for courage, illuminating the personal challenges we face as beings evolving socially and morally. In contemplating the profound, inner meanings of such festivals, we find a nourishing and sustaining force that enriches our lives, as well as those of our families and the wider community.
