Preserving the Joy of Childhood

The Kindergarten program is a bridge between home and school for the young child. Children of this age learn primarily through play and imitation. The Waldorf environment fosters the child’s capacities for imagination and creativity.

The rhythms of the day, week and seasons provide a structure within which the child gains a secure relationship to the world. We work with raw natural materials for a true education of the senses. Creative play, storytelling, circle time and artistic activities provide a balance between the free, creative expression of the child and the teacher-led group experience. Our two mixed-age Kindergarten classes (Rose and Sweet Pea) are led by one teacher and one assistant.

For this program, children can range in age from four to six years old, with no more than 20 children enrolled in a class.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) children (four and a half to five year olds) have the option to enroll for the 5-day a week program and is our preference. But, if that does not work for your family, for TK only, we are offering a 3-day program on: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Kindergarten (K) children (five and six year olds) have the option to enroll in the 5-day a week program. Classes are help from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Aftercare is available from 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Reservations are required for the aftercare program as spaces are limited, but drop-ins are welcome at a slightly higher rate.

*Due to licensing delays, our nursery license is pending and our opening date is to be determined for the nursery program.
