Preserving the Joy of Childhood

The Nursery/Kindergarten programs are a bridge between home and school for the young child (ages 3-6). Children of this age learn primarily through play and imitation. The Waldorf environment fosters the child's capacities for imagination and creativity. The rhythms of the day, week, and seasons provide a structure within which the child gains a secure relationship to the world. We work with raw natural materials for a true education of the senses. Creative play, storytelling, circle time, and artistic activities provide a balance between the free, creative expression of the child and the teacher-led group experience.

Each of our four mixed-age Nursery/Kindergarten classes (Rose, Sweet Pea, Marigold, and Poppy) is led by one teacher and one assistant. The children range in age from 3 to 6 years old, ranging between 12 and 20 children in the classroom each day. Classes are held Monday-Friday from 8:30 am-12:30 pm. We offer 5-day and 3-day (Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Thursday-Friday) attendance options.  Our two day (Poppy) class for 3 and 4 year olds, takes place on Thursday and Fridays 8:30-12:30.

Children turning 5 by May 31st of the school year must attend 5 days/week.

Aftercare is available on a monthly or yearly basis by prior reservation and is available  from 12:30-3:30. *Note that there are limited spots for aftercare, and it's only open on a space by space basis.
